Checking for errors regarding packaging of heavy consumer appliances in the assembly line

The cartons / packaging boxes for the heavy consumer appliances are sourced separately whereas the appliances are assembled on the line. The cartons contain all relevant details pertaining to the appliance such as the serial number, MRP label, etc. which are crucial for after sales service. Currently, there are cases of mismatch wherein the carton/packaging for machine A is placed for machine B which results in multiple issues:

• Mismatch of appliance models with the labels printed. 
• Packing box MRP label, serial number & appliance serial number mismatch
• The appliance model number itself is not matching with the MRP label on  the packaging.
• Mismatch in machine facia as compared to model.

Seeking a low-cost solution other than a passive RFID to validate the duplicate printing, stop the line for mismatch cases, etc.
