Objective is to solve a line balancing problem and optimize the line for a discrete manufacturing set up. The idea is to perform an analysis of the variability (Mura) of labor-intensive operations that are affected by non-value-added tasks. The task is to automate the Mura analysis and detection, investigate the statistical distribution of operation times for different operations and operators; try to find correlations between features using statistical tools and machine learning algorithms and find the main contributors, compute some statistical parameters in order to extract new KPIs.
